I have dreamt of living a self-sufficient lifestyle since my eyes were opened to the health issues facing humanity and the planet in my early 20’s, whilst studying a health and environmental degree at university.
It’s such a romantic notion to grow your own food, make your own products and live in harmony with the Earth.
But where to begin? And how, when you were raised in a world of packaged convenience?
It wasn’t so long ago that supermarkets, single-use packaging etc didn’t exist… many of our ancestors lived self sufficiently, simply through necessity and not knowing another option.
But what if that information wasn’t passed down? Or you never had access to it? How do we rediscover that knowledge?
That’s the journey I’ve been on – researching and experimenting for YEARS.
I’m on the hunt to find the simplest, most practical, efficient and effective natural solutions to help me leave a lighter footprint on the Earth.
It’s been a journey of overwhelm, trial and error, success and failure, and most importantly – determination & commitment.
I’m developing The Earth Girl Lifestyle as a record of my journey, beliefs, knowledge and solutions, that endeavour to help me to live in a manner that helps return balance and respect to the Earth via my everyday actions.
I have an ever inquiring mind that is constantly asking ‘how’ and ‘why’ and I’ve personally found the more I know, the less I know. It’s a continual journey of evolution which is why I love to invest my time and money in further education, researching, experimenting and developing simple solutions.
Writing the Earth Girl Lifestyle is an evolutionary love affair that I’m honoured to share with the world. It’s been a work in progress for many years and I’m hoping by sharing my knowledge I can help to minimise the extreme overwhelm that can be inevitable when you’re open to change and looking for solutions, but don’t know where to start or how to progress.
I hope by sharing my journey with you, you’ll be able to save yourself a heap of time by learning from my lessons and gaining from my knowledge.
We have the ability to create a world future generations will be proud of.
It starts with us. Inspiring seeds of change by simply living a simpler, healthier and more sustainable life.
And so it is.

If you’d like to find out more about me, I have a dedicated space on the internet at www.karlahooper.com to be Authentically Me. I share stories of how my life has unfolded since handing it over to something bigger than me in my early 20’s, stating ‘your will, not mine – how do you want me to be or service?’. And of my outback adventures of chasing camels around outback Australia with the goal of using them as a form of sustainable transportation. And give an insight into the magical world of being a lightworker. My life has been a wild ride to say the least! And I’m so happy to be able to share it with you.
How to use this website
More than anything, this website is for my own personal use, but shared publicly so others can benefit. It’s helping me to get everything out of my head, into writing, and in an organised manner. I can’t even express how empowering this process is for me!
But, it may be confusing for others to follow along. So, you’ll find all the blogs, in random order, under the ‘Blog’ page in the top menu, or you can follow along via relevant topics of interest which you can find under ‘The Earth Girl Lifestyle Topics’ on the Home page.
Some sections will remain blank until such time I’m inspired to write about that topic. Other times, I’ll have some thoughts in writing that won’t be complete as I’ll add to the topic as time goes on.
Alternatively, you can just use the search function on the page header, follow along via my instagram or facebook pages, or get email newsletters by signing up below.
Basically, this website is a work in progress. I suspect one day it will make up the contents of my book, but we’ll see what the universe has lined up. Everything in its own good timing, always.
How I plan to make money from The Earth Girl Lifestyle
Many bloggers make money from using advertisements on their website – you know, those annoying adverts and pop ups that are on most sites? I don’t like them, and won’t be using them.
The information I share with you, is the same information I’d share with anyone I love and respect, and I’d never compromise that. In other words, I’d never share something that has a hidden agenda, ie like promoting something I don’t believe in because I’m receiving payment to do so. However, I’m a big fan of affiliate sales if it’s something I believe in and love. Eventually, I’d like to set up my business with affiliate sales – which means if you recommend my product or service because you love and believe in it, then I give you part of the payment as a thank you. I love the idea of being able to support people like this. It’s a total win win when done right.
Most of the information I share is open source as I want to make a difference in the world and I appreciate what’s right for me may not be what’s right for others. I hope by sharing, you’ll have enough insight to make your own informed decisions.
The knowledge I am/will be selling is my recipes and knowledge for DIY products/projects. I’ve put in countless hours and money into research and development, and feel comfortable charging for this exchange, which includes connecting with people personally to answer questions.
But support doesn’t always come in a financial manner, and I appreciate all the support that comes my way – kind words of encouragement, gratitude… the list is long. So, thank you for being here and becoming part of the journey. I am so grateful you’re here.
